How did They Lose

Buffalo is known for their football; they have a 2,000 yard rusher, the all-sack leader, the inventor of wild wings, and much more, but they are not known for Super Bowl wins. The Bills were the greatest team in the AFC, of the 1990's. Buffalo made it to four Super Bowls in a row and won zero of them. In the four year span the Bills had the greatest players of the era. For example they had Steve Tasker (ST), Shane Conlane (LB), and an average which included a three time pro bowl Tackle Will Worfield, a two time pro bowl Guard Jim Richter, and a three time pro bowl Center Kent Hull. This good protection helped Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas make it to the Hall of Fame. The Bills also had more weapons on their offensive side of the ball. These "weapons" were Hall of Fame Receivers James Lofton and Andre Reed. Lofton and Reed's receiving yards combined together has a total of 27,202 yards! On Buffalo's defense the Bills have the greatest sack rusher a team could ask for, Bruce Smith. Smith is the All-Time sack leader with 200 sacks! He was like the '85 Bears in combined into one man. With a phenomenal offense and a Quarterback eating defense, the Bill some how managed to lose four Super Bowls, but how. The first Super Bowl loss by the Bills was by New York Giants. The reason this happened was because of a missed field goal, I guess it was to much pressure on a Kicker, which is understandable. Most Bills fans claims he kicked the laces and shouldn't blame the Kicker.

Buffalo lost the Super Bowl because of one play and not because of a poor team performance. This explains how they lost their first Super Bowl, but not the other three. The year after their first loss, Buffalo appeared in another Super Bowl against the Washington Redskins. Somehow the Redskins won 24-37. I don't understand how a team as good as the Bills lost to the Redskins. I think that game was just like Super III when the Jets beat the Colts or when team U. S. beat Soviet Union. In Buffalo's next two Super Bowls, the Cowboys beat them twice. The reason the Bills lost was probably because the Cowboys had the better players; there's no other reason for the loss.

The 1990's was a harsh time for the AFC, but even worse for the Bills. They went 0-4 in Super Bowls yet they had five Hall of Famers! Maybe they will win a Super Bowl in the 21st century, but they will probably never have a team as good as they did in the 1990's. This team will be known for their unlucky Super Bowl history. I still don't understand how such a great team can lose so many Super Bowls, so for you can add this to seven wonders of the world.
