The Most Underrated Player in Pro Football History

Kyle Clifton is unknown to almost anybody and I don't understand why. Clifton was born on August 23, 1962 Olney, Texas. He was a big 6'4 240 pound Linebacker playing at TCU. He was 64th overall drafted in 1984 by the New York Jets. He was one of the most unknown/greatest run stoppers and part of the New York Sack Exchange. In his rookie season, Clifton played sixteen games starting nine of them, an interception, a fumble recovery, and 113 tackles. By 1990, he played 92 games starting 80 of them, six interceptions, and 882 tackles, yet no pro bowls. I wonder, why is that, the answer is because he's underrated. In 1990, he had what I believe to be the greatest season of his career, he had three interceptions for 49 yards, and led the league in tackles with 199 tackles! Which may also be the most recorded tackles in a single season. That season, Clifton still didn't make it to the pro bowl. He ended his thirteen year career in 1996 as the Jets Defensive Captain with twelve interceptions for 74 yards, thirteen fumble forces, fifteen fumble recoveries, and 1468 CAREER TACKLES! Brian Urlacher was an eight time pro bowler and a thirteen year veteran at Linebacker, the zero time pro bowler and thirteen year veteran at Linebacker Kyle Clifton had 153 more tackles than Urlacher. This is how amazing his statistics are. He is also one of the toughest players. He never missed a game in his thirteen year career exept in 1987 when the replacements took over. This is why I think Kyle Clifton is very underrated, but he did have an incredible career.
